Cleaning the Deck on Your Lawn Mower

For a complete cleaning this is what you do. Start by removing the gas from the gas tank and disconnecting the spark plug. You should always disconnect the spark plug when doing any kind of work on your mower. Once you have emptied the gas and disconnected the wire stand the mower on its side.

Using a garden hose spray the mower deck to remove and loosen any debris of excess grass. You should use a brush and warm soapy water to scrub down the area. Once your done and have removed all debris and greasy build up you should rinse the deck and let it dry for at least an hour before using it again.

While you have the unit turned on its side this is a good time to also check for wear and tear on your blades or belts.
